AUSTRALIA
Australia’s common language is English, but most people have an accent. The currency is an Australia dollar. The culture of Australia is essentially a Western culture influenced by the unique geography of the Australian continent, the diverse input of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the British colonization of Australia that began in 1788, and the various waves of multi-ethnic migration that followed. Australia is so large that its climate varies. The greater part of the continent is desert or semi-arid. Only the south-east and south-west corners have a temperate climate and moderately fertile soil. The northern part has a tropical climate, varied between tropical rainforests, grasslands, and part desert. The geography of Australia encompasses a wide variety of biogeographic regions being the world's smallest continent but the sixth-largest country in the world. The population of Australia is concentrated along the eastern and southeastern coasts. The geography of the country is extremely diverse, ranging from the snow-capped mountains of the Australian Alps and Tasmania to large deserts, tropical and temperate forests.
A very famous tourists attraction in Australia is the Sydney Opera House. The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Another attraction is Uluru. Uluru, or Ayers Rock, is a massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory’s Red Centre desert, 450km from the nearest large town, Alice Springs. It’s sacred to indigenous Australians and believed to be about 700 million years old. It’s within Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, which also encompasses the 36 red-rock domes of the Kata Tjuta (colloquially “The Olgas”) formation.
